Through Beacon Services, and will collect and share Tracking Information with the intent that people who wish to be tracked (e.g., an “athlete”) may share this information through certain Beacon Services, to others who wish to follow (e.g., teammates, family, friends; also called “fans”). Tracking Information, sent from Devices to our cloud system is provided to fans with minimum possible delay, to convey athlete position reporting as accurately as possible. Beacon stores Tracking Information so that athletes can review it at a later date.
We collect and store all information provided to us by you through Beacon Services. Some of this information may be personally-identifying information, such as your name, email address, phone number, user ID, and OpenID, and in the event of an athlete, the name and other details of the primary fan associated with your account. Additionally, when actively using a Device, we will store Tracking Information collected by the Device.
We do not and will not send spam, sell or rent your email address or any social media login account information to third parties. Further, we will not email you with marketing or promotional emails unless you have opted-in to our marketing distribution list(s). We do not disclose, sell, share, trade or give away your personal information to third parties, except as needed for completing payment and billing transactions through the services of payment processing vendors, if applicable, and for providing Tracking Information to fans.
Like most website operators, our servers automatically collect certain types of non-personally-identifying, technical information, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. We use this information to better understand how our visitors use Beacon Services, and to maintain, optimize and improve Beacon Services.
Internet Protocol addresses indicate the location of a user’s computers or mobile device on a network connected to the Internet. Providing Beacon Services to you may result in the logging of IP addresses for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. We do not log IP addresses to track your session, nor do we link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable.
You have the right to gain access to, correct and/or remove all personal user account information we store about you, free of charge. In order to exercise your rights, you may use our the Beacon website or App to make these changes. In the case that you wish to remove information, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Your user account information and Tracking Information is stored in our cloud service for at least two (2) years.
We use the information you provide us to associate your user account with any request for live tracking indicating that you wish to be tracked. For example: if you have rented a Device for a race day, we may use your account information to display details about you on our website tracker so that fans may follow your progress. We also use your account information so other users may discover and request to follow you. We will sometimes provide statistical information (trends, numbers, etc.) generated from data you provide us, to third parties. This information will be scrubbed of any personally identifying information to protect your identification.
Beacon takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally identifying and personally identifying information. To prevent unauthorized access, safeguard data accuracy, and maintain the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, technical, and administrative procedures to protect the personal information data you submit. We make every effort to ensure the integrity and security of our network and systems. However, since the Internet is not 100% secure and as new technology evolves and emerges, we cannot guarantee that our security measures will prevent third-party interferences from illegally obtaining or tampering with your personal information.
We encourage you to help us by also taking precautions to protect your personal data when you use the Services. Change your account password often, using a combination of letters, numbers, and characters, and make sure you use a secure connection.
Please note that we may provide access to your personal data in order to comply with law enforcement proceedings or court orders.
We may display testimonials, request for support and feedback (together “Feedback”) from users of Beacon Services, but we will seek your consent first. We reserve the right to publish it (stripped of all personally identifying information, of course) in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other Users. Feedback may also be displayed on our website and/or any print media that we issue to promote our services. It will contain your words and name. You may request to have Feedback removed by contacting us, and you understand that the removal of such Feedback is at the discretion of Beacon.
We understand that minors (those who are 13 years old or under) may use Beacon Services from time to time. Beacon requires any user who qualifies as a minor to provide parental consent to use, register and access Beacon Services. Beacon does not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from minors without parental consent, and we will not knowingly link to any third-party website or platform that solicits or collects personal information from minors without parental consent.
